About Us:
Right Now Productions is a newly formed production company comprising ex-professionals and professionals still working in the theatre and television industry.

The company aims to put on a range of exciting and new theatrical experiences utilising the best of Surrey's talents.

We are a "Not for Profit" organisation, and our primary aim is to build on the arts in the local community and raise money where we can for local charities. Ultimately our plan is to create a company that the local community can benefit from, both through participation and raising the local profile. This can only be achieved with the support of local people and companies.

"Tonight At Mackey's Lounge," Right Now's first production raised £700 for local charity, Milly's Fund. Founder Sally Dowler said:

"I am absolutely delighted to recieve such a huge cheque, and the money will go towards producing innovative personal safety resources for schools."

Press Release:
"Tonight at Mackey's Lounge"

The swinging sounds of the 1950's came to the Playhouse last week as it was transformed into a Las Vegas cabaret venue "Mackey’s Lounge."
On arrival, the audience were given a free glass of champagne and then seated at tables where drinks were served throughout the evening by the well-dressed and polite waiting staff. They were also personally greeted by their welcoming (albeit slightly shady) host Johnny "Mackey" Mack, played by versatile actor Stefan Kapota. Mackey's quick wit and repartee ensured the show flowed slickly and his quick fire put-downs kept any rowdy revellers in line.

After the audience were settled in and the drinks were flowing, Mackey introduced the Mackey's Lounge Singers who opened the show with a rousing rendition of "This Could Be The Start Of Something Big."
Kitty Malone (Catherine Caymen), Johnny Solees (Matthew Elverson), Ruby Francis (Kate Roberts) and Tony Verona (Marcello Di Virgilio) then treated the Lounge's guests to some standards such as "Mack The Knife," "The Lady Is A Tramp," "It Had To Be You", "That's Life," "Mr Bojangles" and "Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend."

The singers' accomplished styles, talent and confident stage presence ensured a great night for the whole audience.

"Tonight at Mackey's Lounge" - Cont...

This "Rat Pack" style production had the audience clicking their fingers, tapping their feet and raising the rafters with standing ovations night after night.
"Mackey's Lounge" was the inaugural show for the newly-formed "Right Now Productions" and proved to be a huge hit, with a proportion of the profits being donated to "Milly's Fund" (the local charity set up in order to promote safety amongst children and young adults). A closed-bid auction was held each night where guests could bid on items including a signed Chelsea Shirt.

If you were unlucky enough to miss the show, Right Now Productions have hinted that because of the enormous success of "Tonight at Mackey's Lounge" they are hoping to re-open "Mackey's" later on in the year.

Tonight At Mackey's Lounge - Thursday 26th-Sunday 29th May 2005.
Walton Playhouse, Hurst Grove, Walton-On-Thames, Surrey, KT12 1AU

The first production in our exciting programme was an evening of nostalgic big-band style music and socialising.

"Tonight at Mackey's Lounge" transformed the Walton Playhouse into a Las Vegas style lounge. The audience were transported back to the late 50's with songs from the era, from stars including Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland and Sammy Davis Jnr.

They sat around tables and enjoyed a glass of champagne or a soft drink (included in the ticket price). A licenced bar and waitress service throughout the evening added to the atmosphere.
A percentage of the proceeds will be donated to the charity "Milly's fund". www.millysfund.org.uk

Press Release
Right Now Productions, a newly formed Local Theatre Group last week presented "Milly’s Fund" the charity set up by Milly's parents to promote personal safety for young people, with a cheque for £700 for monies raised at their recent show "Tonight at Mackey's Lounge£ at the Playhouse in Walton on Thames. Sally Dowler said "I am absolutely delighted to receive such a huge cheque, the money will go towards producing innovative personal safety resources for schools."

This was the inaugural show for Right Now Productions and proved to be a huge success with sell out audiences every night. The Playhouse was transformed into a 50's-style Lounge club with the audience seated at round tables with drinks served by waiting staff throughout the evening. The 1950’s "Rat Pack"-style show featured Kate Roberts, Marcello Di Virgilio, Matthew Elverson and Catherine Cayman as the accomplished Mackey's Lounge quartet and Stefan Kapota as Johnny Mack the welcoming, albeit slighty shady nightclub owner. The singers' accomplished styles, talent and confident stage presence ensured a great night for each audience and had everyone clicking their fingers, tapping their feet and raising the rafters with standing ovations night after night.

Belinda Hynes of Right Now Productions commented "We are delighted that we are able to donate this amount to such a worthy cause and one that is so local and means so much within our community," she also expressed thanks to all the local companies that made a contribution to the show's success.

If you were unlucky enough to miss the show, Right Now Productions have recently announced that because of the enormous success of "Tonight at Mackey's Lounge" they are re-opening from 7th-10th December. The box office will be open shortly.
